SIMON BARTLETT

Swing with The Senator

A master of creating the mood, The Senator takes his audience to the Speakeasies of the 3O's, the Ballrooms of the 4O's, and the Vegas of the 5O's. Simon Bartlett is an entertainer in the vein of Louis Prima, Louis Jordan and Louis Armstrong.

Trained at the Sydney Conservatorium (with a scholarship for further training in London), Simon Bartlett has played with the Sydney Orchestra, Don Burrows, James Morrison and is a featured member of John Morrison's Swing City.

His new band, The Upper House , successfully recreates the lounge bands of Las Vegas in The Rat Pack Era. It set a house record at Soup Plus, and performed at festivals, private and corporate functions, and currently has a regular spot at The Statement Bar.

Simon plays and sings the songs, which haven't been sung for a long time, songs that leave the audience wondering why it's been such a long time since they heard them. Favourites such as Just a Gigolo, Minnie the Moocher, and Mack the Knife.

The Senator has performed and recorded both here and abroad, in Las Vegas, New Caledonia, Singapore, New Guinea, and Christmas Island. He has also made numerous guest appearances on Television and Radio, and supported some of the leading lights of Australian Entertainment.
