John
Pennings is a professional freelance trumpeter, a music
educator and one of the rising new jazz talents in the Sydney
music scene.
He
plays with a variety of bands throughout Sydney at numerous
events, functions and venues, including regular stints onboard
the P&O Fair Princess and The Norwegian Star plus he
is a regular member and featured soloist with John Morrison's
Swing City,

John
began playing trumpet at the age of 10 and after completing
his H.S.C. in 1993 he studied at the Sydney Conservatorium
of Music. His trumpet teachers along the way included Ralph
Pyl, John Hoffman, Dan Williams and trumpet clinics with
esteemed Russian master Yevgeny Savin.
